DMS introduces a new range of Hydraulic Unscrewing devices from Exaflow to go along with their standard and low height units. The new “Mini Series” KNTGA-02, KTGA-01 and KTGA-02 are particularly suitable for small thread molds due to their reduced dimensions. To download the complete Unscrewing Device brochure click here.

The telescoping guide system allows for the compact design, while the powerful hydraulic motor allows for rapid unscrewing action. These units demold both right & left handed threads, supports long thread depths and is suitable for volume production while requiring minimal maintenance. The units can also be retrofitted on existing molds. Threaded cores are fitted into the core holder via a mounting receptacle. The pitch of the thread to be demolded is factory machined into the thread guide nut and thread guide core per customer specifications before the unit is delivered, thus only the geometry-defining thread core needs to be produced by the toolmaker.

The characterizing feature of the low-height Compact versions, NTGA-01 & NTGA-02,  is the bevel gear set which redirects the drive power at a 90 degree angle. Due to the extra flat design, these low height unscrewing  devices can even be accomodated in the ejector space.

New range of mini tunnel gate inserts
 Invisible gating of miniature parts

DMS introduces the smallest tunnel gate inserts ever to have been manufactured  Developed and manufactured by i-mold GmbH & Co. KG, BrensbachlGermany, these tunnel gate inserts are used for the virtually invisible gating of miniature parts typically weighing between 0.1 and 5 g.

Such parts are required to an ever increasing extent, for example, in the automotive industry, in the electrotechnical
and electronics industries and in the medical devices industry. The various versions of these mini tunnel gate inserts are particularly suitable for multi-cavity molds. They afford the processor the advantages of side or bottom gating and of reducing the distances between the cavities. The result is a smaller, less costly mold that can then be mounted on a smaller machine with reduced hourly costs. Moreover, sprue waste is minimized through the extremely low channel volume. In cases where the mold has a very large number of cavities, a further reduction in sprue waste can be achieved in conjunction with a common hot runner with each hot runner nozzle feeding several tunnel gate inserts.

The new mini inserts are basically suitable for all thermoplastic polymers, even if filled, reinforced or flameproofed, and for all thermoplastic elastomers. Some of them are contourable and hence adaptable to specific mold technologies and configurations. Like the larger types, these mini inserts come in a choice of two hardness grades: U (40 HRC) and H (60 HRC); the SGC-XS and SGC-S inserts have a hardness grade of 54 HRC. The TGR6, TGR8 and TGS8 mini inserts are available optionally with a machining allowance of up to 0.6 mm (Version 51) or with a conical vestige (Version S2). view pdf
